And we managed to keep data offline without needing a massive app download. It also works well if you only have an intermittent network connection because the definitions are stored offline, locally on the device. You can see your word history and revisit definitions, or make your own list of favourite words to help build up your vocabulary. The speech function helps provide the correct pronunciation. Definitions include synonyms and antonyms which allows the dictionary to also serve as a thesaurus. Wildcard characters can be used to help with word games like crosswords and scrabble where only some of the letters are known, or you have to find an anagram, or with spelling. Then you can follow the links in the definition page to get more word definitions. As you type, Dictionary homes in on the word you are looking for. The home page contains a randomly selected word cloud which will pique your curiosity and help you improve your vocabulary, while the search box allows you to find specific words easily. The dictionary definitions are stored locally, and because it's ad-free there's no need for a network connection. Dictionary is ideal for both native English speakers and English learners or people studying the English language. The EQ is a major nit that impacts the convenience/usability because of the convoluted juggling in the app every time I want to use the speaker.Dictionary is a free offline English dictionary containing over 200,000 words and definitions and no ads. Otherwise I am very happy with this speaker. Also, for other devices, it would be nice if I could set the EQ by my phone and it would “stick” regardless of what I connect, at least until the Bass Up button is pressed or something that would naturally reset.Īm I in the right place for Anker folks to see this or do I need to use a different method to reach out? Every time I use the speaker, it seems like I need to open the app (Android), choose a different EQ setting and then go back to custom. Anyway, there is an inconsistency to the way the EQ retains its setting. I have it set to the recommendations from Youtube reviewer Oluv’s Gadgets (as a side note I would have preferred a more careful tuning because it is nowhere near flat out of the box but these EQ settings sound pretty good to me even though they look wild). I think there is some funny business with the EQ on the Motion+.
